Monastir or Enfidha Airport to Sousse: Which Transfer Should You Book?

For most arrivals, Monastir is the easier airport: it lies about 14 km from Sousse, Enfidha about 48 km, and the Tunisia airport transfer to the main cities names Monastir Airport and offers private or shared rides. It costs €40 per person and is rated 4.5 from 67 reviews. Enfidha has an official STS bus link to Sousse, but the airport itself tells passengers to confirm the current timetable directly with the operator.

From Monastir Airport

Monastir Habib Bourguiba is the practical choice when the flight options suit you. A taxi or private transfer takes you directly to a Sousse hotel; the rail stop at the airport also makes the train a realistic low-cost option for travellers with light luggage. Check the day’s SNCFT timetable rather than building a connection around an old online schedule, and remember that the useful Sousse station depends on where your accommodation is.

The bookable airport transfer covers Tunis Carthage and Monastir airports and “the main cities of Tunisia”; its short description does not name Sousse, give a fixed journey time to every hotel, or say how many stops a shared transfer may make. Confirm Sousse as the destination when you book, put in the flight number, landing time, hotel name and passenger count, and read on the booking page what the total is for your group, because the €40 is listed per person.

From Enfidha Airport

Enfidha-Hammamet Airport publishes that STS buses connect the terminal with Sousse, Monastir, Enfidha and Yasmine Hammamet. It also warns travellers to contact STS for the accurate schedule. That makes the bus a good budget choice only when its confirmed departure fits your flight and you can manage your luggage from the Sousse stop to the hotel. By road the airport is more than 40 minutes from Sousse, so a missed bus is not a small problem.

For a late landing, several suitcases or children, ask your hotel for a transfer quote before departure. Do not rely on a remembered taxi fare: night conditions, luggage, destination and the way a ride is arranged can change the amount. Agree the fare or meter arrangement before the car leaves.

Which option fits whom?

Choose a pre-booked transfer when predictability after a flight matters more than the lowest price. Choose rail from Monastir if you travel light and the current timetable works. Choose the STS bus from Enfidha when you have confirmed the departure with the operator. A hire car is useful only if it serves the rest of your holiday; renting one solely for an airport run adds collection and return work.

Our recommendation: from Monastir, book the airport transfer to Tunisia’s main cities if you want a driver waiting; otherwise check the train. From Enfidha, use the STS bus only after confirming the live timetable, and arrange a hotel transfer when the connection is poor.
